In the face of ever changing customer needs, Thomas Engineering Company relies on an innovative system of Job Development, Design, Process and Quality Engineering to create cost effective tooling, products and improved processes. Various problem solving techniques, preventative actions, enhanced communications and specific value added improvement projects are methods used to meet these customer expectations. This proven approach is now a cultural element that is trained to and deeply ingrained in all Thomas Engineering Company employees.
2. Quality Assurance
Quality and process control is an integral part of every phase of our operation, from the highest grade incoming raw material to finished parts. Thomas Engineering Company is an ISO 9001:2008 registered manufacturer. For our customers this means that a proven, documented and independently audited Quality System is in place, assuring that only consistent, accurate and reliable products are produced. Our Non-Contact Programmable Video Measuring Systems greatly enhance our process control capabilities. Each system significantly reduces inspection time, eliminates human error and makes statistical data available in real time, so product quality may be constantly monitored. Integrated SPC software allows Quality Assurance to generate meaningful capability graphs and quality reports quickly, for all customer document or data requirements. 3. Engineering and Design
Thomas Engineering Company offers comprehensive engineering and design assistance. This includes outlining various packaging options to best fit your automation assembly equipment. Known for ingenuity and originality in precision metal stamping, we are the leader in thin-slotting, regularly-piercing slots less than 1/2 the material thickness. Using the latest in computer-aided design software, our skilled and creative engineers develop intricate die designs that are accurate the first time around, helping to dramatically reduce lead time, design and part cost. 4. Tooling and Super Tooling
Achieving precision and performance in high-speed long runs requires the very best in tooling and presses. Beyond Super Tools Thomas Engineering Company is known for a blending of best practices and craftsmanship, hard work and an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to match a tool to a specific press. Super Tools enable us to deliver the highest quality, within tolerance cost efficient parts. In addition to the Bruderer 30 and 75-ton presses we use for achieving these objectives, we leverage in-house tool design and build capabilities to cut tool costs and shorten lead times to help us meet demanding Just-In-Time delivery schedules. Carbide punches, dies and forms are used extensively for our high speed, high precision runs of up to 1500 SPM. It is common to reach several million hits before sharpening is required. Thomas Engineering Company employs a pro-active approach to quality and manufacturing efficiency with our dedicated controls department. State of the art sensors and vision systems are designed into our tooling and manufacturing processes to ensure part quality and tool uptime. 5. Manufacturing
Thomas Engineering specializes in micro-miniature, miniature and medium-sized parts. Whether your part is the size of a pinhead or several inches in diameter - continuous strip or bulk - if it can be stamped, we can do it! From parts quantities less than 10,000 to over one billion, our facility, equipment, and systems are set up to efficiently produce millions of parts per month while maintaining strict tolerances for optimum parts performance. Precision is a critical element for most of our runs. While tolerances are held according to part specifications, runs at ± .0002 are common.
